Carroll County Energy facility manager, Merritt Brown, recently presented a donation to Ray Rummell of the Carroll County Agricultural Society in support of a new Show and Sale arena at the county fairgrounds. The new building will replace the current metal barn that was built in the 1940’s and will have a larger show arena with improved lighting, and better ventilation for both livestock and show attendees. The new 70’ wide by 100’ long arena will have 16’ high ceilings and metal lining to improve clean up and enhance lighting. The more than 400 Jr. Fair youth will benefit by having a cleaner, well-lit arena to show in and Show and Sale attendees will find their experience more pleasant. In addition to the county fair activities, the new facility will be available for the Daffodil Dairy Sale and the Fall Driving Horse Sale as well as any venue wishing to use it. The Carroll County Agricultural Society hopes to raise all the funds necessary to construct the new building by September so that construction could begin this fall.
